Innovation that meets real needs

UNQUO set out to support solopreneurs—people who manage both business and personal finances, often without the tools to do so efficiently.

The first version of the product, built around a card-only concept, wasn’t enough. To truly deliver on the vision, the platform had to evolve into something more complete, more capable, and more useful in daily life.

SEB Embedded faced a different, but equally ambitious challenge. Many companies outside the financial sector want to offer banking features to their customers. But the hurdles—regulation, infrastructure, integration—are steep. The goal was to remove those barriers. To create a platform that made it simple, fast, and secure to embed financial services directly into products and experiences.

In both cases, SEB needed a partner that could navigate complexity without slowing momentum. A team that could think strategically, build at speed, and adapt as priorities shifted.

From vision to working product

With UNQUO, we helped SEB reimagine the product from the ground up. Together, we designed and developed a native mobile app tailored to the needs of solopreneurs. Users could now save receipts, track expenses, and generate audit-ready reports. Transactions could be swiped between work and personal. Tax tips, salary calculators, and quote tools gave users clarity and control, all in one place.

Alongside the app, we launched a new public-facing website to grow awareness and support early engagement. Built using React, Gatsby, and headless WordPress, the site included SEO tracking, blogging tools, and custom financial calculators. Behind the scenes, we delivered a web-based back office that made it easier to manage the mobile platform and roll out new features. We continued to support the team throughout the pivot, helping the platform evolve without disruption.

For SEB Embedded, we helped shape the platform from first concept to fully operational banking-as-a-service solution. The service was designed to let companies create and embed banking products under their own brand. APIs handled everything from accounts and cards to payments and credit, abstracting the complexity into one secure integration layer. Companies stayed in control of the user experience, while SEB managed compliance, licensing, and the core financial infrastructure. The result was a layered setup that made innovation possible—without requiring partners to become banks themselves.

In both projects, we worked closely with SEB’s teams. Refining the strategy. Building the experience. And making sure the solutions could scale as demand and direction evolved.

Tangible value, real change

UNQUO became a multi-platform service that gave solopreneurs more control—personally and professionally. With the mobile app, users could handle everything from receipts to tax prep without switching tools. The public website helped drive awareness and conversion, while the composable tech stack made it easy for product and marketing teams to adapt content, features, and campaigns.

Even as the product evolved, the platform stayed flexible. We supported continued feature development and maintenance, keeping the experience stable and strong as priorities changed.

SEB Embedded opened the door to a new way of delivering financial services. What once took months of planning, investment, and regulatory approval could now be achieved through a single, compliant integration. Companies gained speed to market and the freedom to test and adapt services without building their own banking infrastructure. SEB, in turn, extended the reach of its trusted banking license into new industries and contexts.

For end users, finance became something seamless. Instead of a destination, it became part of the tools and products they already used—more relevant, more accessible, and more intuitive.

Both projects show what’s possible when deep financial knowledge meets modern design and technology. When strong ideas are met with strong execution.
