Volunteer management was spread out across several disconnected tools, and many of the processes still relied on manual work. This created unnecessary complexity for coordinators and made it harder for volunteers to get a clear and simple experience.
Solution
We helped Mind bring everything together in one platform built on Salesforce. Volunteers now manage their shifts in a dedicated portal, while coordinators can follow activities through dashboards and reports. Applications, onboarding, and scheduling are supported by automation, which reduces repetitive tasks and creates a more reliable flow for everyone involved.

One hub for volunteers and coordinators

Together with Mind, we developed a unified platform on Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud, supported by Marketing Cloud and Experience Cloud. The portal gives volunteers a clearer way to manage their shifts and activities, making it easier to sign up for new opportunities without confusion. For coordinators, the same information is available in real time through dashboards and reports, which helps them follow what’s happening without relying on spreadsheets or manual updates.

Processes that once required several steps across different tools are now connected in one flow. Applications, interviews, onboarding, and scheduling happen within the same system, with Salesforce Flows removing much of the repetitive work. Marketing Cloud is the communication engine towards volunteers, providing them with the right information at the right time, throughout the application and onboarding process. Marketing Cloud also enables Mind to create campaigns and reach more potential volunteers.

More time for what matters

With everything gathered in one place, volunteer management has become more consistent and less demanding. Applications are processed more quickly, onboarding is easier to complete, and scheduling is handled with greater accuracy. Coordinators now have dashboards that let them follow activities directly, which reduces the time spent on administration, and volunteers gain the confidence of seeing their shifts at a glance and registering for new ones in just a few steps.

The increase in applications is managed more efficiently, and the time saved can instead be used to strengthen the support services that matter most. Having reliable data also gives Mind a better overview of resources, helping them plan with more certainty and prepare for growing demand. The platform has become a foundation that supports their mission, while keeping both volunteers and coordinators better equipped to focus on the people who need them.
