Challenge
BAMA’s logistics network ranged from short local deliveries to long-haul routes from southern Europe, but planning remained slow, manual, and hard to adapt. Teams struggled to match vehicle types with produce or account for seasonal shifts and supplier changes, driving up costs, emissions, and food waste. To stay efficient and sustainable, BAMA needed to move from reactive planning to a proactive, data-driven setup.
Solution
Together with PA Consulting, we built a data-driven platform with two integrated tools for smarter, faster, and more flexible logistics planning.

The system has reduced costs, cut emissions, and lowered food waste. BAMA now plans with greater precision—and delivers with more confidence.

One platform, two tools, many gains

Together with BAMA and PA Consulting, we built a digital platform designed to optimize both daily deliveries and long-term logistics strategy. BAMA led the work on optimization algorithms and the core data platform. We focused on designing and developing the digital tools that bring those insights into everyday use.

From the start, the system was shaped around real needs. BAMA’s transport planners were deeply involved in testing and feedback. Every feature was grounded in how they actually work. That made adoption easy — and impact immediate.

The platform includes two core applications. Operational transport planning helps teams match products to vehicle requirements, optimize routes, and load trucks efficiently. Tactical capacity planning supports big-picture forecasting and smarter use of transport resources across seasons and regions.

Built for reuse and ready to grow, the platform now gives BAMA a more stable, efficient, and sustainable way to deliver fresh goods across the country.
